“Snuggling with Mom, Miss JoAnn

Joey – You are and always will be loved by so many. Your story was heartbreaking, then heartwarming.  You have had two wonderful forever moms and many foster moms.  Some you have bitten but they still wouldn’t give up and continued to provide unconditional love. Especially your amazing forever Mom, Sue who has been my dear friend over 30 years. You sure landed in heaven on earth. Your mom “Sue” truly saved your life.

Cookie

GOOD NEWS PUPDATE FROM COOKIE’S MOM & DAD

Cookie was adopted by Cathy & George a most amazing couple. She truly hit the doggie lottery and will never want for anything

Special “Thank You” to  Gabby Von Rosen, The Little Farm House for taking Cookie under rescue when her owner had to surrender.   Sadly he had been living in his car with Cookie for over a year. Thank you Gabby for trusting Destiny for Dogs with finding Cookie her extraordinary & loving home.  It was truly “their destiny” that brought them all together.

This wonderful couple lost their beloved, Cookie 1 that they adopted from DFD eight years prior.  Losing her was so devastating, Cathy & George were still grieving a year later.  Our hearts were breaking for them.

It was uncanny that the fur baby Gabby rescued real name was also “Cookie”and  the girls could have been siblings. Long story short, it was love at first sight for Cathy, George & Cookie when foster mom, Susan Brokaw performed the meet and greet. Thank you, Mark & Susan Brokaw-Garfinkel

for all that you did for Cookie to get her ready for a new and wonderful life.

From Cookie’s Mom:

“We are so thrilled that you thought of us when Cookie needed a forever home. She is such a smart, cuddly, and entertaining little girl. She enjoys going with us for road trips, camping, and fishing.

We are back from our travels to N Georgia and everyone is a happy camper. She fit right in and enjoyed meeting our son’s family. Does very well with other dogs too. She is such a sweetheart and brings us great joy. Thank you!!

Photo attached was taken of Cookie 2 at the same spot at our son’s place 3 yrs apart from photo of Cookie 1.“

It is said that, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Enjoy the photos that also tell a beautiful story about Cookie and her continued, “Happy Days Ahead!”

Finny

GOOD NEWS PUPDATE FROM FINNY’S MOM

“That’s my baby Finny right now.  He loves to sleep in.  That’s his “gankey” that came with him from Destiny for Dogs.  He likes to be covered up with it and snuggles right down when I put it around him.   Finny does that every morning and it’s a moment of zen for me to see him snuggled under his gankey”

This is an awwwwww moment that makes ya smile from ear to ear

Willow

GOOD NEWS PUPDATE & PHOTOS FROM WILLOW’S FOREVER MOM.  THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL HAD A ROUGH START IN LIFE UNTIL SHE HIT THE DOGGIE LOTTERY WITH HER NEW MOM, DAD & FAMILY

There are no words to express our appreciation to Willow’s “Forever Mom, Dad, Home for real & forever. She will never want for anything which Willow so deserves.

Before and after photos say it all. Thank You for all that you do and are to Willow

BACKSTORY – From Willow’s Mom: “Oh my goodness this makes me so sad.  I will never understand people that can treat an animal that was given to us to take care of like that, they give us unconditional love and should be given the exact same in return.  If you can’t do that then you don’t deserve to have them.  Poor Willow.

I am in awe with your dedication and the sacrifice you make to help dogs like Willow who need saving, to get proper health care, find them fosters who will take the time to work with them and mentoring  them so they can start to blossom and feel what it’s like to be loved and then course the end result of finding them the right family that will continue that process so they will live a great life and over time be able to hopefully forget the horrible one they once had.  It takes special people like you all to make this all happen.  Thank you for doing what you do.

And here is the entire family together for family pictures and the little dogs are always included.

”Once again, it is said “A photo is worth a thousand words”

Wishing Willow and her wonderful & loving forever family continued, “Happy Days Ahead!”

Special “Thank You” to foster mom,  Jackie Sickels & her extraordinary family for getting Willow where she needed to be. As always,  we all love & appreciate your entire family

Coco

GOOD NEWS PUPDATE FROM OPAL NOW COCO’S MOM

“Coco is doing wonderful. She’s so loved and an amazing dog.  Coco saved me from a broken heart”

Thank you for placing her in our care.

Her nickname is Coco Bunny.

Coco has 2 new sisters (Chanel & Cookie) She plays well with them.

They love her and respect her.

I’m truly in love with my Coco. Thanks for letting us adopt her.”

Precious little Opal now Coco had a very rough start in life as a “breeder dog.” Sadly, Coco never knew the meaning of love, a tender touch, or a gentle voice.  She was a “money-maker” not a family member.

Coco was in horrible shape and had a HUGE bladder stone (X-Ray above). Special “Thank You” to Linda Abbott, DVM & Lynn Mcgrew (Also Foster Mom) & Staff for taking such great care of her.

The day Coco met her new mom was the first day of the rest of her “Happily Ever After” life with unconditional love and tenseness.

Once again, “A photo is worth a thousand words.” Enjoy Coco’s New World”

It does take a Village to save precious lives. We adore and appreciate our “Villagers”

In Loving Memory of “Honey”

IN LOVING MEMORY OF HONEY FROM HER BELOVED MOTHER

“Please Mary, tell me, that you were there waiting for Honey – that you held her as I had to let her go…and that the two of you are running happily together again.  Miss you both! Honey 3-11-2024”

Please also keep Honey’s mom, Laura in your loving thoughts & prayers as this is truly heartbreaking beyond words:

Honey’s mom, Mary passed away, September 18th, 2022 after being in a coma. Honey’s other mom, Laura was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  She waited to start therapy, then had a severe reaction and had to stop.  The following day her beloved fur baby, Honey ended up in the hospital and she never left Honey’s mom, Laura was hoping she would have her furbaby next to her during chemo.

From Laura, Honey’s surviving mom:

“Honey was very loved.  She was Mary’s first dog, but it was a real bond between the two of them.  I know that in the future, I will get another doggy so if you see a girl as sweet as our honey, not a big doggy, please let me know.”

We are all so sorry for the loss of Laura’s beloved Mary whom also loved Honey dearly.

Honey was blessed to have two extraordinary moms who provided her such an incredible and loving forever home.

Rest in Peace Mary & Honey. You are both together “Happy, Healthy & Whole.”

Special thanks to Cheryl & Leo Wellence Jr for being such wonderful foster parents to Honey

In Loving Memory of Emmy from Mom

IN LOVING MEMORY OF EMMY FROM HER MOM

“Sending one of my favorite photos of Emmy, as you know she was very camera shy so it was always hard to take a good photo. Emmy was much loved and her time here was way too short. Sad to have her previous abuse confirmed, I know we suspected that something had happened to her, nevertheless it’s very distressing to know she had been treated so badly.

I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and deepest respect for all you do for the animals that need help.”

There are no words to express our appreciation for all that Emmy’s mom did for this sweet, loving and beautiful senior girl to make the rest of her life extraordinary. Mom did everything humanely possible to provide only the best for Emmy and the love she so deserved.

Rest in Peace, Dear Emmy. You are now “Happy, Healthy & Whole, running free at Rainbow Bridge
