Josey a Hero!!

josey_emailRead Josey’s Happily Ever After Story by his Owner, Tinka…

One major highlight this year was the adoption of our crazy but cute dog Josey.  In a split second and before we knew it we had a new family member….only to realize that it was just like having a new toddler at home, who required a ton of work and attention.  At times I didn’t know if him stealing my socks and underwear was cute or would drive me insane. Whether him barking up a storm every time someone comes to the door made me feel safe or like losing my mind.  Since the beginning weeks though, he has calmed down quite a bit. When we got him we were told he had been tied to a tree for 6 months prior.  I think he feels secure now and knows he is loved. Plus, he earned major carma points and, “ok fine we are keeping you” points, when he saved not one animal but two from drowning in our canal behind our house by barking and barking till Chris and I finally checked on what was going on and saw those two poor little creatures on separate occasions.  Both animals, one giant beautiful cat and one small pug dog survived and are doing well – and Josey is our new, slightly crazy, hero.

Demi – Living the Dream

I have found my forever home and I am living the dream with my new canine siblings, horse friends and lots of kitties.  I fit in so well.  I am so happy to be home.  This is a dream for any hound dog to have land to roam and a loving family who sees the value of rescuing a dog like me.

Thank you Destiny for Dogs for rescuing a dog like me and having the faith it takes to find me the perfect home.

Teddy – Foster Forever

My first foster mom missed me so much she came back for me and now has adopted me.  I love her so much and I now have a full time canine sibling where we spend most of the day with our mommy while she works.

When Destiny for Dogs delivered me to my new home there were many tears as everyone loved me and I was hard to give up.

I just want to say to JoAnn Goodrich of Destiny for Dogs…I LOVE YOU!!

Rusty is Home!!

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”  Rusty found his loving forever home and will live happily ever after with new parents, Cornelia & Rene.

God bless you Cornelia & Rene.

Roxy is Awesome!

After being given away, abandoned, returned by one foster, returned by adopter, Roxy has finally found her forever family.  Roxy had issues with separation anxiety so she was returned by her first foster family and returned by her first adopter.  After Roxy was placed in foster care again it was realized that Roxy simply had been crate trained in the past and once she had a crate she no longer had separation anxiety.  Her foster family loved her so much they have decided to keep her.  Hooray for Roxy as she is such a loving and absolutely adorable girl.

Bailey wishes Destiny a Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from Bailey.  Bailey was one of the many successful adoptions who is living “Happily Ever After”.

Thank you all for Willie’s Adventure

Willie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Alabama.  1-800-PetMeds posted Willie on their web site and immediately we started to get applications to adopt Willie.  Rob and Gina Morgan fostered Willie until transportation could be found to bring Willie to South Florida to meet his new family, Denise and Pete.  Craig and Cathi Harp are truck drivers who travel all over the country with their two dogs and Willie was able to hitch a ride.  Craig and Cathi arrived in the middle of the night where SoHo Dogs, Mary Jo Meyer met them and then took Willie to his new owner.  The photos are Willie traveling with his canine friends, Willie arriving and Craig gives Willie to Destiny for Dogs and finally Willie meets his new mom Denise.  This was a truly amazing adventure but as you can see people from all over came together to help this angel.  Thank you all ♥ ♥ ♥

Sam is Home!

Sam is a Parsons Russell Terrier puppy.  Sam is now happy with his new dad and canine sibling.  He lives a life of pure freedom and love and will have a long and happy life.  Here is Sam exhausted after a day of playing with his new sister.

I’ll Take Two Please!!

This is Bella and Betsy.  How could you resist wanting to take these angels home?  Well, Ron and Allyse could not resist and adopted them both.  We are so grateful to have Ron and Allyse in the business of rescuing and not puppy shopping.  These two angels have been added to this wonderful family.

Levi – Young and Loving

Levi was found on the street by a few cyclists a few months ago. A police officer made the cyclists hand him over and he went to animal control. Before Levi was going to be euthanized due to lack of space, his cycling rescuers pulled him from the shelter.

We need a foster/adopter for this cutie. He was very shy when we first got him but he’s full of puppy life now! He’s about a year-old with sparkling white teeth, neutered, vaccinated and enjoying being free! He’s so eager to please so training him is a breeze. He gets along with EVERYONE! Loves other dogs and all people, including kids.

Please read a fantastic article written about him from one of his new friends, http://www.examiner.com/article/one-dog-s-journey-out-of-the-jaws-of-death.
