Our Sweet Valli

In Memory ofValli, the sweet little Shih Tzu girl that was rescued from the shelter.  Valli had a lot of issues however her mom and dad loved her and she returned the love two-fold.  Her adopters provided her a wonderful and loving home. Valli had true quality of life and love even if only for a short time. We will all miss this very special little girl.

Valli’s body left you today however her loving spirit will always remain in you heart. Until you meet again.

We are all very sorry for the loss of your beloved, Valli.

Rest in Peace Papi

Papi 02We lost our dear sweet senior “Papi”.  His dear sweet mom, Mary Sue, held him and loved him as he crossed over the “Rainbow Bridge”.   Papi surely felt the love around him as he left us.  Papi’s mom spoiled him and loved him so much and provided him with such a wonderful quality of life for his last few months.  Rest in Peace angel boy.

Rest in Peace our sweet Onni

OnniOnni,

When we adopted you we had no idea what you would be like. What could be wrong with you that someone would give you up? You turned out to be the best most loving companion anyone could ask for. Our time with you was short but full of love and joy and we were thankful each and every day for your coming into our lives.

Rest in Peace our sweet angel

Rest in Peace – Jack aka Frankie

Jack 01Jack aka Frankie was called to his forever home and will become part of his new “Over the Rainbow Bridge” family.  Sometimes we cannot control what happens but can only hope that this sweet angel knew what real love was before he left us.  His final journey was preceded by the love that Destiny for Dogs showed him by rescuing him and letting him know that he was loved.

Rest in Peace our canine friend and don’t forget to find our sweet departed “Destiny” who will be glad to share her bowl, bed, blanket and toys.

Leia

Leia 05Abby Leia is with her Forever Foster family as she can not be adopted as she has “Mast Cell Cancer.”  Donations would be appreciated to keep her comfortable until she crosses over the rainbow bridge.  This is a picture of her when we first got her.  Once diagnosed no one would take her and keep her until the end of her time.  Her foster family has had her for a while and will give her all the love she deserves until she takes her last breath.  She is still happy but we know her time is short.  If you would like to donate money for her continued care please click on the donate button and make a donation or you can mail a check to our address on the contact us page.

Sweet Peanut

Cheryls PeanutRainbow Bridge 06Last night at 8:37PM, a little angel named Peanut grew her wings and flew away from her loving home of 17+ years to Heaven.  Her strong will power pushed her to walk without sight, try to stand on legs with no strength and, in the final minutes of her life, I watched her breathe her last struggling breaths after all had failed.

My house & my life feel so empty and lonely now without her, my little Peanie Weenie, who weighed just over 3 pounds at the end.  I believe she can now see perfectly and run on strong legs, and the day will come when she will be by my side once again.

In Memory of Angel

Angel 01

Have you a kitty in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little kitty died today;
she’ll be waiting at your door.

Please take her into Heaven, Lord.
And keep her there for me,
just feed her, pet her, love her, Lord,
that’s all she’ll ask of Thee.

Dana Lynn Underwood, 65 of Hypoluxo, FL passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2014. She was born in Washington D.C. to Theodore C. and Betty V. Owens on June 1, 1949. Dana did not just live life, she attacked it. Dana graduated from FSU where she met her husband John and was a great supporter of the Seminoles. After spending many years working at the National Enquirer she joined her husband and established a real estate appraisal company in Lake Worth, FL. She and John worked together for 35 years. Dana was an avid fisherwoman, she belonged to Ladies Let’s Go Fishing and would fish in locations all over the world. Dana and John boated together in South Florida in many different types of craft over a 40 year period. When her fear of being in the water overwhelmed her, she became a certified diver. When she recovered from her first bout of cancer her first comment was “I want my Harley now.” She rode for many years and was a member of Palm Beach HOG. She was also an avid pool player and participated in local poker leagues. Dana was devoted to her pet dogs and spent many years training her animals. In Loving Memory of Dave Rintz a Friend and Rescue Angel

Kat

I Have Done Something

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter…the cast-offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal. And I was angry.

“God,” I said, “this is terrible! Why don’t you do something?”

God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, “I have done something,” he replied. “I created you.”

David Rintz, 67, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, March 30, 2014. He was born December 16, 1946 in Lancaster, PA where he lived until he entered the United States Navy in November of 1964 serving his country proudly in the Vietnam conflict aboard various vessels including the USS Arlington until December 1970. After his discharge from military service he returned to Lancaster where he honed his skills in the carpentry trade. Dave moved to Fort Lauderdale in the 1980’s where he worked for local building contractors until he started his own carpentry business which later grew into a successful custom cabinet shop. Dave was passionate about riding motorcycles and rescuing abandoned animals. He is survived by a brother and sister, nieces and nephews in Lancaster and many friends in Fort Lauderdale as well as his special canine family, Cookie and Emma.

Rest in Peace our little Cricket

Cricket came to us after living alone on the streets for several months and trying to survive.  Destiny for Dogs found Cricket a new mommy and daddy a while ago.  We are sorry to say that Cricket has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to be with all our other sweet angels we have loved so much in the past.  Cathy and Tom have lost the love of their life and they will be forever changed knowing this sweet angel.
